OA Staff Summer Series: Moments of Peace
Updated: Aug 4, 2021
When I think about my dream summer vacation, I picture hiking, being on the water, and just enjoying nature.

For many working college students, we don’t always have time for everything we want to do. I’ve found ways to work with my schedule though, to do things outdoors and enjoy every moment I can. If I’m walking my dog, jumping in my pool, or sitting outside on a nice day, I’m always looking for the beauty in nature. It’s the little moments I’ve come to enjoy this summer and I try to capture them on camera so I can remember them forever.

Working at Outdoor Adventures this summer I’ve been able help people get their gear prepared for trips, and I always love hearing about how their trip was when they get back. Even though I can't always get out there myself, I do my best to make sure others can make the best of their opportunity.

I love working for Outdoor Adventures because I’m always led to new outdoor opportunities. Just this week I was able to kayak at our very own East Lagoon for the first time!

I’ve never been kayaking before so I was a little nervous to get out on the water, but once I started paddling, all my nerves subsided to relaxation. I was able to take in the sun and all of the massive trees towering along the shoreline. This was one of very few moments this summer that I was able to just relax and enjoy being outside. If you've never learned to kayak, there's no better time than this summer!
